RIVERHEAD, N.Y. (AP) - A 34-year-old Long Island property manager has admitted to killing his wife in 2010.

Joseph Jones, of Centereach, pleaded guilty on Monday to manslaughter in the death of 31-year-old Nicole Tessa.

Suffolk County prosecutors say Jones beat and strangled Tessa and buried her in a shallow grave after she confronted him about selling her oxycodone pills. They say the two were addicted to pills.

Newsday (https://nwsdy.li/2pn8cLG ) reports that under the plea agreement, Jones is to be sentenced to 18 ½ years in prison on May 11.
