WILKES-BARRE, Pa. (AP) - A Pennsylvania man who slashed the throat of a woman who stole a smartphone containing his drug-dealing contacts will spend 26 to 60 years in prison.
The sentence imposed Monday against 33-year-old Andre Moore was the maximum possible in the October 2014 incident that left 24-year-old Dayna Williams scarred for life.
Luzerne County prosecutors say Williams met Moore says before the party at a Wilkes-Barre home where she incurred his wrath.
Moore had Williams stripped naked, burned with cigarettes then stuffed in a trash barrel before driving her to some woods where he slashed her throat and left after she played dead. She later stumbled through some woods to a nearby home, where someone called for help.
Moore has denied wrongdoing.
