PHOENIX (AP) - Phoenix police say a 13-year-old girl was shot and wounded early Tuesday morning while riding in a stolen car with other teenagers.
Police said unknown suspects fired at the vehicle and the girl suffered a shoulder wound that was called non-life threatening.
Sgt. Jonathan Howard said the shooting occurred just before 2 a.m. and that the six juveniles in the car ranged in age from 13 to 17.
Howard says the girl and another juvenile got out of the car at a location where a security guard spotted them and call 911.
Meanwhile, the other four teens drove off in the stolen car but ended up leaving it at a location where two of them were detained by police.
Police have not determined who shot at the teens.
