GREAT FALLS, Mont. (AP) - A homicide investigation has been opened in the death of a 46-year-old man whose body was found in the Missouri River in Montana earlier this month.

Cascade County Sheriff Bob Edwards identified the victim Tuesday as Shawn Michael Cox, who was listed as a transient.

Edwards says the case has been ruled a homicide and detectives from his office and the Great Falls Police Department are working on the case.

He says Cox was reported as a missing person to the Great Falls Police Department in March.
