PRESCOTT VALLEY, Ariz. (AP) - A Prescott Valley man wounded in a police shooting is awaiting extradition back to Yavapai County.

Authorities say 33-year-old Robert Aaron Moreno was shot on April 5 after allegedly firing several shots at Prescott Valley police officers.

Police say Moreno was seriously wounded Robert Moreno and transported to a Phoenix-area hospital for treatment.



Upon his release, Moreno was taken into custody by the Arizona Department of Public Safety and then transported and booked into a Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office detention facility in Phoenix.

He’s being held on three counts each of aggravated assault on law enforcement and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon plus one count each of felony firearms violations.

Police say none of the officers involved in the incident sustained any serious injuries.
