MOLINE ACRES, Mo. (AP) - Authorities have charged a man with a deadly shooting outside a convenience store in the St. Louis suburb of Moline Acres.

Twenty-three-year-old Theron Moton, of Moline Acres, was charged Wednesday with second-degree murder, armed criminal action, tampering with evidence and failing to report a shooting. He is being held on a $500,000 cash only bond. No attorney is listed for him in online court records.

He is accused of shooting an unarmed 36-year-old Darrikus Tipler on March 27 after scuffling with him in the 7-Eleven store’s parking lot. Court records say Moton then fled, and Tipler later died of his injuries.

Prosecutors say Moton turned himself in Wednesday after police released surveillance images of a suspect in the shooting. Moton has previous convictions for burglary, property damage and felony stealing.
