SYRACUSE, Utah (AP) - Police say two people were injured by a Utah teen during a reported home invasion.

Syracuse Police Department says it received a call for an attempted break-in at a local home on Wednesday. They say the homeowner’s teenage son fired one shot at the 17-year-old male suspected of breaking into the home. The teen’s mother was also wounded during the shooting.

Detective Erin Behm believes the suspect was not armed but says the person seemed to be physically imposing enough to make the family feel threatened during the incident.

Officials say the alleged intruder and mother were both taken the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Behm says no arrests were made and they do not have additional suspects.
