PARCHMAN, Miss. (AP) - A former Wayne County justice court judge who was convicted of raping a 16-year-old girl has died in prison.
The Mississippi Department of Corrections says 78-year-old Billy T. Bonner died Thursday night at the hospital at the Mississippi State Penitentiary at Parchman.
The prison system says an autopsy will determine Bonner’s cause of death.
Bonner was serving a five-year sentence after he pleaded guilty in 2012 to raping a girl who was cleaning his house. The investigation began after the girl was taken to Wayne General Hospital in July 2011.
