CAMDEN, N.J. (AP) - Authorities say one man was killed and another was seriously injured when gunshots rang out in Camden.

Camden County prosecutors say police responding to reports of shots fired in the area of 6th Street found the victims around 11:35 p.m. Friday. They say both men suffered gunshot wounds, but further details were not disclosed.

They say 49-year-old Camden resident Walter Chatman was found near Viola Street. He was taken to a hospital but died there a short time later.

The other man, a city resident whose name wasn’t released, was being treated for undisclosed wounds and remained hospitalized on Saturday.

A motive for the shooting remains under investigation. Authorities say no arrests have been made.
