MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) - Vermont’s food and beverage scene will be showcased next month, when the “Taste of Vermont” reception returns to Washington D.C. for the twelfth time.

Top officials, foodies and business leaders will have the chance to sample Vermont’s flavors during the invitation-only event, held in the U.S. Capitol Building, several Vermont business associations announced Friday. The event is held May 11.

About 60 Vermont businesses will be featured during the reception, including producers of maple syrup, pizza, microbrew beers, chocolate, cheese and more.

Democratic U.S. Sen. Patrick Leahy will be the honored guest.
