OROFINO, Idaho (AP) - Authorities are seeking information on the whereabouts of a northern Idaho teen who never returned home from his high school prom.

Orofino police say 17-year-old Kristian Perez’s mother told police she hadn’t heard from her son since he left Orofino High School’s prom around 9: 30 p.m. Saturday.

Perez’s tuxedo jacket, one shoe and his broken cellphone were recovered near the vehicle of a relative who drove the teen to the prom.

Police say a canine tracking team indicated Perez may have walked west from where the prom took place at the National Guard Armory toward a parking lot along U.S. Highway 12.

Police in Lewiston confirmed they followed up on a possible sighting of Perez in the city, about 40 miles west of Orofino, but have no new information.
