DOVER, Del. (AP) - A Dover man faces drug charges after authorities say a search of his car turned up more than 5,000 bags of heroin.

Dover police say 36-year-old Devron Powell was spotted driving a vehicle without a license Monday morning.

WDEL-FM reports (https://bit.ly/2pvxg43 ) authorities with probation and parole and street crimes divisions pulled him over. Police say a search of the car turned up 5,200 bags of heroin, 1.3 grams of marijuana, and $1,011 in suspected drug proceeds.

Powell was charged with possession with intent to deliver heroin, possession of heroin, possession of marijuana, two counts possession of drug paraphernalia, and driving while suspended.

The station reports bond information was not available. It wasn’t immediately clear if Powell had an attorney who could comment on his behalf.
