BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (AP) - Bridgeport’s police chief says a fatal early morning shooting in the city appears to have happened after a party.

Chief Armando Perez says the victim was shot twice while walking to his white car on State Street just after midnight Thursday.

He was identified as 33-year-old Max Antoine, of Stamford. He collapsed in the middle of McLevy Park and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Perez tells the Connecticut Post “something went wrong” at the party and it appears that someone either followed the victim or was waiting for him near his car.

No name was released and no arrests were announced.

Police have not disclosed the exact location of the party.
