RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - A Virginia high school student is facing charges after officials say the student used a stun gun on two other students.

Local news media outlets report that the Thomas Jefferson High School student has been charged with two counts of simple assault and possession of a stun gun on school property. Police did not release the student’s identity.

Richmond Public Schools Spokeswoman Kenita Bowers tells the Richmond Times Dispatch that the stun gun was smuggled past the school’s metal detectors and was used on two other students. Bowers said school officials are investigating the incident.
