NORRISTOWN, Pa. (AP) - A Pennsylvania woman is facing up to 20 years in prison after pleading guilty to killing her ex-husband.
Hsiu-Chin “Linda” Lin, of Montgomery County, has pleaded guilty to third-degree murder in a deal her lawyers call an “excellent resolution” for a difficult case.
Prosecutors say 64-year-old Lin shot her ex-husband Chien-Kuo Lin in May because he took a family business from her and he was living with another woman. After the shooting, Lin told her son to call the police and sat at the kitchen table until they arrived.
Lin’s case was scheduled to go to trial the following week. She would have faced a life sentence if convicted for first-degree murder.
Her lawyer says Lin “snapped” after years of physical and sexual abuse by her ex-husband.
