PHOENIX (AP) - A chain-reaction collision closed a Phoenix freeway for several hours and resulted in several people being injured.

Authorities say westbound Loop 202 was closed at 32nd Street in east-central Phoenix as a result of the Friday morning crash.

The Phoenix Fire Department said nine people were injured, including three people seriously injured and needing transport to hospitals.

The state Department of Public Safety says none of the injuries appeared to be life-threatening.

Trooper Kameron Lee said 10 vehicles were involved in the wreck that began when a tractor-trailer rig was unable to stop when rush-hour traffic came to a halt.
