Iowa woman found guilty of stealing from elderly aunt

DURANGO, Iowa (AP) - A jury has found a Durango woman guilty of stealing more than $400,000 from an aunt who suffered from dementia.

The Telegraph Herald reports (https://bit.ly/2p2ZDqy ) that the Dubuque County jury took less than two hours to find 45-year-old Molly Bodish guilty Friday of ongoing criminal conduct. She is set to be sentenced on July 31.

Dubuque police say they began investigating the possible abuse of an 80-year-old woman in May 2015, after her death.

Police say a search of the woman’s bank records show Bodish wrote checks to herself or for her personal use from her aunt’s account totaling more than $365,000 over several years.
