OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Texas law enforcement officials say a Houston man accused of killing multiple women has acknowledged fatally strangling a 19-year-old Oklahoma woman almost 20 years ago.

The Oklahoman reports (https://bit.ly/2p6HQAI ) that 57-year-old William Lewis Reece is charged with first-degree murder and kidnapping in the abduction and death of Tiffany Johnston.

Johnston was abducted from a car wash in Bethany, where her vehicle was found abandoned on July 26, 1997. Her body was found the next day in Canadian County.

Texas Ranger James Holland testified during a preliminary hearing Friday that Reece acknowledged killing “the Oklahoma girl” during an interview on March 1, 2016. He is also suspected of killing two girls and a woman in Texas in 1997.

Reece has been imprisoned in Texas since 1998 on an aggravated kidnapping conviction.
