NEW YORK (AP) - Police say a woman walking on the street near Battery Park in Lower Manhattan was hit by gunfire during a shooting involving a dispute between two men.

It happened just after 3 p.m. Monday near Battery Place and Washington Street, an area busy with professionals and tourists.

Police say one of the two men pulled out a gun and started firing, striking a 32-year-old bystander in the ankle. She was taken to Bellevue Hospital.

Police say a 40-year-old man was later found shot in the torso and hospitalized in Brooklyn. Police are still investigating whether that man was involved in the dispute.

Both victims are expected to survive.

Police were questioning another person.

This story corrects spelling of Bellevue Hospital, not Belleview.
