MEDFORD, Ore. (AP) - Authorities have arrested an Oregon man suspected of a Craigslist robbery after an hourslong standoff at a home, where police say they found him hiding in the attic.
The Mail Tribune reports (https://bit.ly/2phiVL7) that 19-year-old Brandon Soares was arrested at the Medford home on Monday.
Police had used cameras and a K-9 to search the residence. Police Lt. Justin Ivens says officers found Soares hiding under insulation and he surrendered without a struggle.
The suspect is accused of robbing a man he met at a YMCA parking lot last week after responding to the victim’s advertisement for gaming equipment on Craigslist. Police say Soares took off with the items and fled the scene on foot.
Police say Soares had been armed with a gun during the robbery.
