HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) - The Hartford Police Department says five officers face discipline in connection with a violent arrest following a car chase last June.
The department’s Internal Affairs division in a 68-page report released Tuesday found fault with seven officers in all, after a suspect was kicked while on the ground and handcuffed.
The most serious punishment was a 90-day suspension and the denial of promotion to an officer caught on camera kicking the prone suspect three times.
One officer is getting a four-day suspension; one is getting a two-day suspension; while two received oral reprimands.
One officer involved has since a retired, while the seventh, though found to have violated standards by failing to properly fill out reports, will not be reprimanded.
Two men were charged in connection with the chase.
