WILLISTON, N.D. (AP) - A prisoner at the state penitentiary in Bismarck serving time for killing a co-worker has pleaded guilty to stabbing another inmate.

A South Central District judge on Wednesday sentenced 51-year-old Tovias Carrillo to 20 additional years in prison for attempted murder and possessing a weapon in a correctional facility.

The Bismarck Tribune (https://bit.ly/2ppklTG ) says Carrillo stabbed the inmate in the weight room in December 2015 with a tool he had made. Carrillo is already serving about 20 years for the 2014 death of Juan Palacios. Both worked for a landscape company.

It’s not the first time Carrillo has gotten in trouble while locked up. While awaiting trial on the Williston murder case, he attacked another inmate with a broken coffee mug.
