OSAGE, Iowa (AP) - A northern Iowa man already convicted of attempted murder and sexual abuse faces a June trial in another sex abuse case.

The Mason City Globe Gazette reports (https://bit.ly/2pCp4CD ) that 52-year-old Mark Retterath, of Osage, is accused of committing sexual acts against the will of a man while acting as the man’s Alcoholics Anonymous sponsor in 2015. Retterath has pleaded not guilty to charges of sexual abuse and sexual exploitation by a counselor or therapist. His trial is set to begin June 6.

In the other case, Retterath was found guilty in August of sexual abuse, attempted murder and solicitation to commit murder. Investigators say he planned to kill the victim with the poison ricin after the man reported sexual abuse to authorities. Retterath was given 35 years in prison.
