GULFPORT, Miss. (AP) - Authorities say they’ve arrested five men - including a man facing a murder charge - following an investigation of eight auto burglaries.

The Sun Herald reports (https://bit.ly/2oMsTA8 ) that all five suspects are Gulfport residents.

Authorities say each faces multiple counts of auto burglary in connection with charges filed in Harrison County, Long Beach and Pass Christian.

The newspaper reports that one of the men, 20-year-old Gary Perkins, was free on a $1 million bond pending a grand jury review of a murder charge.

Perkins is accused in the fatal shooting of Chavis Allen in June in Gulfport’s Turn Key neighborhood. Allen was shot in his front yard. It wasn’t known early Thursday whether Perkins has an attorney who could be reached for comment.
