ROCKINGHAM, Vt. (AP) - Police say a New Hampshire man faces kidnapping and aggravated sexual assault charges.

The Brattleboro Reformer reports (https://bit.ly/2ptrqCF) that 33-year-old Kurt Carpentino of Hinsdale is accused of taking a 14-year-old from New Hampshire to Vermont.

Police say that Carpentino sexually assaulted the girl in Vermont.

Police say the missing teen was spotted in Rockingham, Vermont, and that they picked up Carpentino in Springfield, Vermont.

Carpentino, who is due in Windham Superior Court Friday, has a criminal record in both New Hampshire and Vermont. It was not immediately known if he had a lawyer. The public defenders’ office said it’s possible a lawyer would be appointed during his court appearance.
