PATERSON, N.J. (AP) - A New Jersey man has pleaded guilty to the shooting death of a 12-year-old that led to an outcry for an end to violence in Paterson.

The Record reports (https://njersy.co/2pok55C) 21-year-old Jhymiere Moore, of Paterson, on Thursday pleaded guilty to charges of aggravated manslaughter in the 2014 death of Genesis Rincon.

Police say Moore and another man were firing at a van in 2014 when Rincon was struck by a stray bullet. Rincon was riding a scooter to a family gathering with two other children at the time of the shooting.

She died hours after being shot.

Moore also pleaded guilty in the 2013 shooting death of 16-year-old Ragee Clark.

A mistrial was declared in his 2016 trial.

Sentencing is scheduled for July 28.
