MUNFORDVILLE, Ky. (AP) - State tourism officials say the central Kentucky city of Munfordville has been designated as a Trail Town.
The Daily News reports (https://bit.ly/2oD6WbD)the Kentucky Department of Tourism bestowed the designation Thursday in a ceremony at the Green River Park and Arboretum. City officials had worked for more than a year to get the certification.
The Kentucky Trail Town Program is designed to help connect communities to trail systems and develop them as tourist destinations. It’s aimed at helping guide travelers to trails, food, lodging, campgrounds, museums, entertainment and other services.
Munfordville joins more than a dozen other cities around the state that have received the certification.
