MADISON, Wis. (AP) - The state Department of Natural Resources is set to begin re-examining outdoor recreation options with a series of hearings in northern Wisconsin this month.

The DNR’s Recreation Opportunities Analysis will look at existing options as well as future needs in eight regions around the state, starting with nine northern counties. Information gathered in those counties will help develop recreation activities throughout the region and in the Northern Highland American Legion State Forest master plan.

The agency will begin with three public hearings during the week of April 25 in Arbor Vitae, Park Falls and Antigo. The public also can provide input on the DNR’s website.
