COOS BAY, Ore. (AP) - A Coos County jury has convicted a Coquille man of raping a child.

District Attorney Paul Frasier says jurors Wednesday afternoon found 44-year-old Frank Wayne Noakes guilty of rape, sodomy, sexual abuse and unlawful sexual penetration - all in the first degree - after a two-day trial.

Frasier says the victim was younger than 12 and known to Noakes.

Sentencing has been scheduled for April 24 at 8:30 a.m.

Noakes faces a 25-year, mandatory sentence on the rape, sodomy and unlawful sexual penetration charges.
