WOODBURN, Ore. (AP) - The Marion County Sheriff’s Office says one of its deputies was taken to a hospital after he was struck by a vehicle during a traffic stop in which shots were fired.

Lt. Chris Baldridge says the attempted traffic stop was Friday afternoon near Woodburn. At some point during the stop, the deputy was hit by the vehicle.

He did not have an immediate update on the deputy’s condition or information about the suspect.
