ANDERSON, S.C. (AP) - Police investigators in Liberty say a man is facing multiple charges after leading officers on a chase that ended with a collision that killed another motorist.

The Independent Mail of Anderson reports (https://bit.ly/2nO7iqI) Liberty Police Chief Adam Gilstrap said officers tried to stop 29-year-old Nicholas Keith Blackstock of Greenville late Thursday because of a brake light problem.

GIlstrap said Blackstock drove off and led officers on a chase which ended when Blackstock’s car crossed into oncoming traffic on U.S. 123 and struck a car driven by 59-year-old Steven Louis Richardson of Easley. Pickens County Coroner Kandy Kelley said Richardson was pronounced dead at the scene.

Arrest warrants show methamphetamine and marijuana were found in Blackstock’s car.

Blackstock is jailed without bond. It’s not known if he has an attorney.
