STAMFORD, Conn. (AP) - A pedestrian has been struck and killed by a car in Stamford but police have had a hard time establishing his identity.

Police say the mad was struck crossing the road at about 11:30 p.m. Thursday. He was not in a crosswalk.

He was pronounced dead at the scene and wasn’t carrying any identification.

He was described as an Asian male in his 60s with gray hair, about 5-feet, 4-inches tall and weighing about 140 pounds.

The operator of the car that struck the man is a 65-year old Stamford resident, who stayed at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact them.
