CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) - Police in North Carolina’s largest city say a security guard shot and killed a man during an attempted robbery at a sweepstakes arcade.
The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department said in a news release that 32-year-old Julian Anthony Harris and an unknown male accomplice entered the arcade and tried to rob it early Wednesday. According to police, Harris had a handgun and pointed it toward the business staff.
Police said an armed security guard employed by the business fired a shot and hit Harris, who with his accomplice fled on foot from the business. Harris’ body was found in a wooded area behind the business. Authorities said the second suspect has not been apprehended.
