MONROE, La. (AP) - The former manager of jewelry store in Monroe is facing felony theft charges after reportedly stealing $18,000 from the store.

The News-Star reports 35-year-old Katrina Garrett was arrested Friday. Bond was set at $30,000. It was unknown if she has an attorney.

The Monroe Police Department started an investigation Thursday and revealed that Garrett, the Kay Jewelry store’s manager, took numerous pieces of jewelry without paying.



An arrest affidavit for Garrett states the items were pawned at various pawn shops in the Monroe area.

During questioning, Garrett reportedly confessed to the crime.
