LILLINGTON, N.C. (AP) - Five bodies have been found in a North Carolina county in the last two weeks, and authorities are trying to determine if the cases are related.

Harnett County Sheriff Wayne Coats told WTVD-TV in Durham that while he can’t rule out a connection, there is nothing to indicate each of the discoveries is related.

Local media sources report the latest body was found partially decomposed Thursday in a wooded area in Spring Lake. Coats identified the person on Friday as 32-year-old Dennis Alan Conley of Cameron. The sheriff said the death is being treated as a homicide.

Two bodies were found on Aug. 17 and charges were filed in those cases. Two other deaths were reported on Aug. 14 and those cases remain unsolved.
