HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (AP) - A West Virginia man has pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter in a shooting death last year.

WSAZ-TV reports 29-year-old Bobby Thompson of Lesage was sentenced Thursday to 15 years. He had been indicted on charges of murder and wanton endangerment.

The case involves the June 2016 death of Raymond Chapman near Lesage as Chapman and Thompson’s wife sat in a car together. Court documents indicate troopers said Thompson pulled a gun, shot once into the ground, then shot Chapman through the window.
