CONCORD, N.H. (AP) - A man accused of stabbing a woman to death in Concord, New Hampshire, in May now faces a more serious charge of first-degree murder.
Daswan Jette originally was charged with second-degree murder in the death of 23-year-old Sabrina Galusha on May 30. The attorney general’s office said Tuesday he has been indicted on a charge of first-degree murder, as well as an alternative count of second-degree murder. The first alleges that he stabbed Galusha after committing robbery with a deadly weapon, while the second alleges he acted recklessly in causing her death.
Police have said the stabbing occurred after Galusha confronted Jette over the theft of a half-ounce of marijuana. His attorney, Robin Davis, did not return a phone call Tuesday. She has suggested Jette may have been defending himself.
