WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) - Authorities say a 24-year-old man was critically injured in a shooting in Delaware.

Police says an officer was patrolling in Wilmington on Monday when he heard several gunshots. Police say the officer found a crime scene and a vehicle that had been hit by gunfire, but couldn’t find a suspect or victim.

Police say officials were then notified that a 24-year-old man had arrived at a hospital with a gunshot wound to his left torso. Police said Tuesday that the man is in critical, but stable condition.

Police say the shooting is under investigation.
