JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - A judge has set bond at $1 million for one of two men charged in the shooting death of a woman as she sat in her car at a traffic light in Jackson.
Local media report 23-year-old Chelsie Lynn Kirschten was killed Aug. 17. Police say the gunman said nothing when he walked up to the driver’s side and shot her in the back. A passenger says the gunman didn’t take anything and just walked away. The passenger was not injured.
On Wednesday, 19-year-old Lidarious Dixon, appeared in court where a judge set bond at $1 million.
Dixon faces a charge of murder and shooting into an occupied vehicle. Twenty-one-year-old Nicholas Coats was also arrested in the slaying. He’s being held on $200,000 bond.
Investigators haven’t released a motive.
