PORTSMOUTH, Va. (AP) - A man has suffered life-threatening injuries following an accident at a shipyard in Virginia.

WAVY-TV reported that the accident occurred Tuesday afternoon when the man’s legs were clinched between a concrete pylon and a tugboat that was being moved for repair. The man got stuck in the process of moving the boat.

He is reported to be in his 50s. Rescue crews rushed him to a local hospital.



The incident occurred at East Coast Repair and Fabrication in Portsmouth. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration, also known as OSHA, is investigating.
