PERKINSTON, Miss. (AP) - A Mississippi man who said that a pipe bomb exploded is recovering from injuries suffered to his face and legs.

Captain Ray Boggs of the Stone County Sheriff’s Department tells WXXV-TV that a 911 call was made early Tuesday morning reporting a pipe bomb exploding at a Perkinston house. Deputies and emergency medics responded to the scene where Edward Caudill was found with cuts and wounds from the explosion.

Caudill was airlifted to a hospital. He’s last reported in stable condition at the University of South Alabama Medical Center where he’d been treated.

Boggs says that investigators found “destructive devices” and “post blast components” at the scene, but it’s unclear if it was a pipe bomb.

The Sheriff’s Department and federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives are investigating.
