Democratic National Committee Chair Tom Perez said Thursday that Democrats are already gearing up for the 2018 cycle, learning from their past mistakes.

“We’re leading with our values,” Mr. Perez said on Fox News. “We’ve learned from our mistakes. We’ve organized everywhere.”

When asked if he believe House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi has been a good leader for the Democratic Party, Mr. Perez sidestepped the question, but did credit Ms. Pelosi for passing the Affordable Care Act.

He also predicted big wins for the Democrats in the midterm elections after making major gains in Virginia and Alabama — two moderate and conservative states — in off-year and special elections.

“We’re leaning in to the 2018 election cycle,” Mr. Perez said. “I think we’re going to win the Senate and the House.”
