PENNS GROVE, N.J. (AP) - A New Jersey police officer facing charges after dashcam video showed him kicking a handcuffed man in the head has resigned.
Penns Grove solicitor Adam Telsey told NJ.com that the resignation of Patrolman George Manganaro was accepted Tuesday night by the borough council.
Manganaro was suspended after he was charged with aggravated assault after the incident early Thanksgiving morning in Carneys Point Township neighboring Penns Grove.

The one-minute dashcam video obtained by NJ Advance Media shows Manganaro and another officer speaking to a burglary suspect.
The suspect, handcuffed and sitting on the ground, tries to get up and is then kicked in the head with such force that his hat flies off his head. Salem County’s prosecutor says he was left with a minor cut to his face.
