OMAHA, Neb. (AP) - The owners of a car upholstery shop are repairing inflatable Christmas decorations for free to ensure that vandals don’t tarnish the holiday spirit.

Lisa Driver tells the Omaha World-Herald that she and her husband decided to fix the decorations free after a recent rash of vandalism in northwest Omaha.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s office has received several reports of vandalism of Christmas decorations.

The Drivers have used their industrial sewing machine and heavy-duty thread at Lion’s Automotive Upholstery to repair six damaged inflatables.

Santa, a toy soldier and a snowman are all awaiting repairs.

Lisa Driver says the decorations should all be back up by Christmas to give the neighborhood kids a treat.
