PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Police in Philadelphia say a man has been charged with a hit-and-run crash that left an 8-year-old boy dead.

Michael Finn is facing charges including causing an accident involving death and homicide by vehicle.

Police say 34-year-old Finn was driving a minivan that struck a car as it made a turn Wednesday afternoon.

The impact of the crash demolished the car, which was occupied by a 28-year-old father and his son.

A witness tells WPVI-TV she rushed over to the car to console the boy, telling him to hang on as he gasped for air. He died at a hospital.

Witnesses told police Finn got out of his car to check the damage then got back in the vehicle, only to hit another car as he fled.

No attorney information is available for Finn.
