READINGTON TOWNSHIP, N.J. (AP) - Prosecutors say a woman arrested earlier this year after a struggle with police officers in a motel room has been charged with resisting arrest and aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer.

The Hunterdon County prosecutor’s office said a grand jury indicted 30-year-old Alexandra Travis of Whitehouse Station.

Prosecutor Anthony Kearns III alleges that Travis “purposely attempted to cause bodily injury” to four Readington Township officers April 3. Other charges include obstruction of justice, shoplifting and a weapons count.

NJ.com reported in April that Travis was sought in a liquor store theft and arrested in a local motel room after a brief struggle. Police said she was intoxicated and armed with a knife. A listed number for her couldn’t be found and it isn’t clear whether she has an attorney.
