NEW ORLEANS (AP) - A New Orleans attorney has been appointed to temporarily serve as an Orleans Parish Civil District Court judge.
The Louisiana Supreme Court said in a news release Wednesday that it appointed Henry P. Julien Jr. to fill the vacancy created by Judge Tiffany Gautier Chase’s election to the state’s Fourth Circuit Court of Appeal.
Julien’s term on the court will run from Jan. 1 through May 31, or until an election fills the vacancy.

Julien has had a private law practice since 1981. He worked for the Louisiana attorney general’s office in the 1970s.
