Liberal filmmaker Michael Moore is threatening Senate Democrats that they will face a primary challenge from the left if they refuse to filibuster President Trump’s pick for the Supreme Court.

“Senate Dems, let’s be very clear: You will filibuster & block this SC nom or we will find a true progressive and primary u in next election,” Mr. Moore tweeted.

Moments after Mr. Trump named Judge Neil Gorsuch as his nominee for the Supreme Court, Senate Minority Leader Charles E. Schumer announced that Democrats will indeed force a filibuster — though some red-state Democrats up for re-election have shied away from joining such calls.

A filibuster would require Judge Gorsuch to receive 60 votes unless GOP leaders resort to rewriting the Senate rules and adopting the so-called “nuclear” option so they could confirm him with 51 votes.

Republicans hold a 52-48 seat advantage in the Senate, meaning they would need the support of Democrats to overcome a filibuster.
