HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (AP) - A Huntsville man has been accused of abusing an infant.

Huntsville police tell Al.com (https://bit.ly/2ky1dA6 ) that 31-year-old John Rhinehart faces a charge of aggravated child abuse.

Lt. Stacy Bates said Thursday that Rhinehart became a suspect after an investigation began when a 6-month-old child was admitted to the hospital with injuries in December. Bates says medical records and a follow-up investigation led the Madison County District Attorney’s Office and investigators to believe the injuries were intentional in nature.

Rhinehart has been released from the Madison County Jail on a $15,000 bond. It was unknown if he’s represented by an attorney.
