CENTRAL FALL, R.I. (AP) - A Central Falls man has been arrested in connection with a late January house fire.
Police say 56-year-old resident Phillip Parrott, faces a charge of first degree arson after they say he confessed to deliberately setting a fire at a city residence on Jan. 28.
Seven residents were rescued from the blaze and three police officers were recently honored for helping rescue them.
Parrott was arraigned Friday afternoon in Providence District Court and pleaded no contest to the charge, according to court records.
He was ordered held at the Adult Correctional Institutions in Cranston. Police say they were able to identify Parrott in part through from surveillance video.
